Our content manager, Anna Lundahl, is preparing for a calm and harmonious Christmas. But how does one achieve that? Here, she shares three well-chosen tips to bring about tranquility and encourages others to share their tips and advice. How do you do it?
I have taken on the task of delivering a Christmas chronicle here in preparation for the holiday break. With low energy levels at the brain office, I turned to our digital friend, ChatGPT, and asked if it had any tips on themes for a Christmas chronicle. I got classic suggestions such as "Looking back on the year that has passed, Event Trends 2024, Success Stories from 2023," and so on. Fairly standardized ideas that didn't make my fingers dance across the keyboard. But then, a point came up that made me think of the phrase "sharing is caring," which feels especially fitting during the holiday season:
"Share tips for successful Christmas arrangements."
As a big fan of tip lists, really all conceivable lists, this became the path to take. So here are three tips that I've adopted to ensure a joyful Christmas at our home
Delegate Seek help from friends and family regarding what should be on the Christmas table. Most people like to help, so assign everyone the task of bringing a few dishes to the Christmas table. The wonderful thing is that it can become a culinary journey. On our Christmas table, Finnish root vegetable casserole coexists with Greek salad and Swedish meatballs.
Alone time Christmas is a time for the family to gather, but isn't it nice to have a bit of alone time too? Give out gift cards for activities, and soon you'll have an echoingly empty home while others are at the movies or Leo's Playland, and you can enjoy well-deserved "me-time." As they say, "happy wife = happy life"!
To-buy list Speaking of lists. Have a digital list where you jot down things that people say they wish for throughout the year. The surprise and joy are great when your loved ones receive something they forgot they wished for six months ago. And a bonus, of course, is that you avoid rushing around for last-minute Christmas gifts in the holiday shopping frenzy - a dream in itself!
How do you go about having as calm and enjoyable a Christmas as possible? (If that's what you want, of course)
MERRY CHRISTMAS, everyone!
